Recent improvements in computers have produced various hybrid methods of numerical and non-numerical (symbolic) computation, to offer efficient means for program development. Some researches on such hybrids using coroutines or parallel computation are being conducted to combine Fortran and Lisp to provide advanced functionality by supplementing their shortcomings with each other. These methods, however, often require compiler reconstruction or premature processing methods and seem to be far from practical.
