Whereas the translocation of allelochemicals between plants is well establishedfor many years, a corresponding transfer of common, typical natural products wasunknown until recently. This phenomenon was unveiled when the potentialsources of contaminations of plant derived commodities by nicotine andpyrrolizidine alkaloids were analyzed thoroughly.
