Information on heterosis and combining ability is derived from data on seed yield and 3 yield components in 6 lines, 16 testers and their 96 F1 hybrids from a line × tester mating design. Of the hybrids, 64 and 38 showed heterosis for seed yield over the better parent and standard cv. Varuna, respectively
