The temperature dependence of the surface tension for liquid metals has been examined. Based on the considerations of the principles of corresponding states, an existing formulation, originally developed for ordinary liquids, has been shown to be applicable also to molten metals. A semi-empirical method has been developed which predicts the values of surface tension as a function of temperature for sixteen metals, with an average error of 5.2%
