Electron transmission functions for HCl and HBr in the energy region from 0.25 eV to 1.15 eV reveal a broad resonance with structure at the threshold for excitation of three vibrational levels of the ground state neutral molucules. There is good agreement between the experimental data and recently computed potential energy curves
