Vanadium pentoxide, vanadyl chloride and ammonium metavanadate form H[VO(HSO<SUB>4</SUB>)<SUB>4</SUB>] when dissolved in disulphuric acid. This compound behaves as a non-electrolyte in the acid. At higher concentrations, there is indication of its polymerisation. Chromyl chloride, potassium chromate and dichromate form CrO<SUB>2</SUB>(HSO<SUB>4</SUB>)<SUB>2</SUB> when dissolved in disulphuric acid. There is also indication of the polymerisation of CrO<SUB>2</SUB>(HSO<SUB>4</SUB>)<SUB>2</SUB> at higher concentration
