We describe here the details of a wet method that we have employed in the preparation of the oxide materials La<SUB>1.8</SUB>M<SUB>0.2</SUB>CuO<SUB>4</SUB> stabilized in the K<SUB>2</SUB>NiF<SUB>4</SUB> structure. We also present the results of our resistive measurements of their superconducting behaviour
