Poly(acrylonitrile-co-methyl methacrylate) films were oxidized in an air oven and in an oxidation chamber at temperatures of 80 to 200°C. Differential thermal analysis of these oxidized films showed that the exothermic peaks increased with increasing oxidation temperature. The change of viscosity, the insolubility in dimethylformamide and IR analyses indicate both intramolecular and intermolecular reactions
