The symmetry properties of normal modes of the lattice of sodium nitrate are investigated using group-theoretical techniques. Making use of the formalism of Maradudin and Vosko, the symmetry vectors at several points in the Brillouin zone are determined. The interrelations between elements of the dynamical matrix corresponding to the points have also been obtained
