The paper is in two parts. Part I. relates to comparative studies of "stability," "value and nature of impedance," "linearity," and "phase-distortion" made on dynatron, transitron, and feed-back types of negative resistance element for the frequency range 0·5 kc/s to 1·0 Mc/s. "Amplification Effect," " Band-pass Effect," and negative resistance equalizers have been explained on the basis of the above studies. Part II. shows the (a) negative resistance (impedance) sections as two-way amplifiers, and (b) negative resistance (impedance) sections as two-way ampli-filters.
