Granular materials may experiment a process of cementation either artificially, as, for example, in the case of cement treated earth, or resulting from natural processes as for instance carbonate or silicate deposition. It is generally recognized that cementation will increase the stiffness, strength and brittleness of the material. The TFM will address the development and validation of a constitutive model based on the coupling between damage and plasticity to capture these effects
