The origin of Supernova Type Ia is still a controversial astrophysical topic. Basically three scenario are proposed: the single-degenerate scenario, where a white dwarf grows in mass through accretion; a double-degenerate scenario which consists in the merger of two white dwarfs and the core-degenerate scenario that is the merger of a white dwarf with a asymptotic giant branch stars. This last scenario seems more promising, or at least , is able to explain some recently observed supernovae.We conduct a population synthesis study concentrating on its binary systems, studying the outcomes of the common envelope evolution involving a white dwarf and an asymptotic giant branch star.
