Treball desenvolupat dins el marc del programa 'European Project Semester'.This report describes an investigation by a student team in the framework of European Project Semester, into the use of diamond carbon coatings for biomedical engineering. Allotropic forms of carbon applications are being investigated as very interesting materials as to produce advanced micro-electronic devices, coatings for cutting tools and implants. Due to the highest biocompatibility of carbon resulting from the presence of this element in the human body, it appears to be a potential biomaterial.
