The estimation of the wave field near the coast using the measurements done in deep waters is one of the basic tools for the studies carried out in the marine environment, which usually take the wave height as the main variable of design. There are many variables that influence the process of propagation and several methods for its calculation. The most basic ones could be reduced to: period, direction of propagation, wave height and bathymetric configuration or depth.
