[ANGLÈS] In this work we propose an innovative modulation that offers network flexibility while keeping the transmitter simple: Flex-PAM modulation formats. First purpose is to define and verify possible strategies for the operation of Flex-PAM, showing the back-to-back bit-error rate (BER) performance vs. signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). Back-to-back simulations verify the theoretical predictions without extra penalties. Nonlinear propagation con uncompensated uniform link transmission impacts Flex-PAM due to the power unbalanced between generating formats.
