Design of refuelling robot for autonomous driving

The rapid development of 3D computer graphics and virtual environments has allowed the researchers to avoid working with physical robotic systems. These require specialised knowledge, a very complex construction, a huge time-consuming and it may not be financially feasible. Therefore, an alternative approach would be to use robot simulations which allow researchers to carry out experiments on the computer. Ideally one would first prototype a robot, then controls its algorithms in a simulation and, as a third step, the learned parameters and results could be transferred to the real hardware implementation of the robot arm. The present master thesis consists on the design and simulation of a refuelling robotic arm for an existent autonomous car which it has been designed, built and programmed by the Intelligent Mobile Robot Innovation Team of the Laboratory of integrated navigation and Intelligent Navigation of Beijing Institute of Technology (北京理工大 学).
