This thesis examines the powertrain of an electric car. The schematic here showed is based in a general structure obtained from the already developed EF1 (“Elektrofahrzeug” 1) and MUTE [Mut13]. The powertrain as a system and also each individual component will be explained, providing a deep understanding of its working processes. The batteries and the BMS will be studied more closely. Secondly the thesis will focus on the insights of the development of a HiL platform for BMS’s. Both the hardware and the software architecture of the platform will be described and explained.
