The paper explores Moore's conception of analysis and relates it to his defence of common sense and ordinary language as its vehicle of expression. Section 1 studies the role that analysis plays in his philosophy and its importance to tackle philosophical problems. Section 2 gives an account of what a Moorean analysis consists of, discusses the criteria that a proper analysis should satisfy and classifies the different types of analysis found in Moore's writings. It also argues against considering them either linguistic or conceptual. Section 3 clarifies the notions of common sense and ordinary language giving prominence to the former.
