Variació diacrònica de la llengua de signes catalana (LSC)

Treball de fi de grau en Traducció i InterpretacióThe Catalan Sign Language (LSC) is the natural language of the deaf and hard of hearing people in Catalonia. One of the main reasons of the Deaf Community's marginalization in our society is due to a lack of recognition. In order to improve more knowledge about Catalan Sign Language, I did a brief lexical study about diachronic variation in LSC, which studies the difference of signs and the factors thet influence its use throughout the discourse of two deaf people of different ages. This work shows the lexical richness of LSC vocabulary and the existence of a clear evolution in this language. This evolution responds to the users' needs as with other languages, no matter if they are oral or signed. This leads us to my second goal: to prove that it is an alive and natural language and to show the importance of it to raise awareness in society and reach the equality between deaf and hearing people
