Los estudios de evaluación de la ciencia: aproximación teórico-métrica.

The evaluation of the results of science and technology is essential for the scientific, economic and social development of any country. The evaluation studies in these spheres are analyzed from a conceptual and theoretical point of view. It is reflected on the challenges the evaluation of scientific research must assume. It is analyzed, from a metric approach, the behaviour of the scientific production on science studies during the period 2000-2007 in the Web of Sciences, in order to contextualize and understand the state of the art about this topic in the main stream journals. The leadership of the United States and the European countries in this field stand out, as well as the visibility of the universities as the most productive institutions.
