Evidence-based medicine (EBM) urges health professionals to make decisions based on relevant, documented and well-known facts. EBLIP (evidence-based library and information practice) is build on this basis and is intended to provide information professionals with suitable methodological tools in order to get through a high-quality research from which results will become the basis of a decision process in the field of information and library science, and of further researches. This article is a narrative review and an introduction to the EBLIP paradigm, which states its short history, definitions, methodology and evolution.
