My NCBI (National Center for Biotechnology Information) works keeping information and preferences of the user in order to provide customized additional services. With My NCBI, search strategies can be saved and it is possible to activate an option so that the system sends automatically by e-mail the results of the searches previously saved. Besides, My NCBI allows to store e-mail addresses, to filter the results of the searches and LinkOut, documents shipment service and preferences of external tools. To use My NCBI the browser should be configured for accepting cookies, and a prior registration is needed
