Hacia una biblioteca digital del fondo antiguo de la Universidad de Granada. El proyecto Ilíberis

This paper describes the Ilíberis project designed to create the Digital Library of Antiquarian Materials at the University of Granada. First, the nature of the materials to digitize is described and later the main goals of the project are discussed – conservation, control and dissemination. Next, the most relevant variables used in its design are examined as well as the processes involved in its development and implementation. Finally, an analysis is provided of the current situation of the project as well as the results obtained. This paper illustrates the relevance of digital libraries by facilitating the storage, organization, conservation and dissemination of highly valuable multimedia contents in a highly efficient manner
