Several effects of polarization-phase dynamics, observed in a linear class A laser with polarization instability and in a ring laser with phase instability, have been revealed. The equations for lasing of a four-frequency ring class A laser, possessing both of polarization and phase instabilities have been derived, giving rise to systematical studies of polarizationphase dynamics of lasers as well as the dynamics of high dimensional nonlinear systems having different physical origins
