The possibility of using aqueous sols of hydrous metal oxydes (AI2O3, In2O3, Y2O3) as matrices to produce ultrafine PbCrO4 particles is shown. The influence of chemical nature of the matrix on the morphology and size of PbCrO4 particles formed therein and on the optical properties of the pigment was investigated using ТЕМ, X-ray and electron diffraction and optical spectroscopy methods
