Wydział Neofilologii: Instytut Filologii AngielskiejThe aim of the thesis is to discuss the interface between learners’ use of vocabulary learning strategies and their cultural background. The thesis consists of two parts: theoretical (three chapters) and practical (one chapter). Chapter 1 introduces the concept of the word and some issues related to vocabulary learning and teaching. Chapter 2 gives an insight into the notion of language learning and vocabulary learning strategies.
