Empeoramiento de las condiciones de empleo y trabajo en los primeros años de la crisis socioeconómica: relevancia y efectos sobre la salud de la población asalariada europea = The Worsening of the employment and work conditions and its relationship to the self-perceived health in European working population: relevance and effects of the latest socioeconomic crisis

The recent crisis of the capitalistic economic system has altered the working conditions andoccupations in the European Union. The recession situation has accelerated trends and has broughttransformations that have been observed before. Changes have not looked the same way in all thecountries of the Union. The social occupation norms, labour relations models and the type of globalwelfare provision can help underline some of these inequalities. Poor working conditions can exposeworkers to situations of great risk. This is one of the basic assumptions of the theoretical models andanalytical studies of the approach to the psychosocial work environment. Changes in workingconditions of the population seems to be important to explain in the worst health states. To observethese features in the current period of economic recession it has made a comparative study of trendthrough the possibilities of the European Working Conditions Survey in the 2005 and 2010 editions.It has also set different multivariate logistic regression models to explore potential partnerships with the worst conditions of employment and work. It seems that the economic crisis has intensifiedchanges in working conditions and highlighted the effects of those conditions on the poor health ofthe working population. This conclusion can’t be extended for all EU countries; some differenceswere observed in terms of global welfare modelsEl objetivo de este estudio fue observar si habían empeorado las condiciones de trabajo yde empleo en la población asalariada de la UE a raíz de la última crisis socioeconómica, así como larelación de éstas condiciones con el estado de salud. Se realizó un estudio de tendencia a través de laEuropean Working Conditions Survey comparada con la Labour Force Survey. Además, se ajustaronmodelos de regresión logística para explorar asociaciones de las peores condiciones con la salud,considerando el trabajo reproductivo, el sexo y edad. Los principales resultados indicaron que sehabían intensificado algunos cambios en las condiciones de empleo en países con regímenes debienestar sureños y anglosajones. Las peores condiciones se asociaron con el mal estado de salud conimportantes desigualdades de género.
