The family communication questionnaire (c. f. 88 Musitu et al.) and an acaptation of the Family education Scale was applied to a sample of 424 male and female secaondary school students between the ages of 14 and 18 (EMBU). The same procedures was folowwed with the parent's child-rearing patterns. Once these groups had been obtained the differences between the Family Education Scale factors in both variables were analysed by applying the General linear model and Tukey's test.
