Perfil sociodemográfico, trastorno mental y sucesos vitales estresantes en personas sin hogar en la ciudad de Granada: Un estudio exploratorio

Curs acadèmic: 2016/2017INTRODUCTION: According to data from the National Institute of Statistics (2012), there are around 22,938 homeless in Spain, being Andalusia the third community with the highest prevalence of this problem, and Granada itself being a suitable city for this population . The reality that these people suffer goes beyond poverty, being a set of individual, social and mental disorders factors that facilitate and maintain that situation. OBJETIVE: To explore the sociodemographic profile of homeless in the city of Granada, addressing equally mental disorder, stressful life events (SLE), positive variables and coping styles. METHOD: The sample included 30 participants from whom sociodemographic data was collected, and the presence of mental disorder, SLE, optimism, coping styles and post-traumatic growth were evaluated. RESULTS: The profile found indicates that it is mainly a male person, of average age, Spanish nationality, single and with a primary level of education. In addition, they presented a low rate of mental disorder and a high SLE index. Finally, we found high levels of optimism, low levels of post-traumatic growth, and differences between coping blockade and cognitive coping in homeless according to their mental disorder. CONCLUSIONS: This study shows that homelessness is a multi-causal phenomenon where the absence of economic resources, a large number of SLE, addiction problems and the absence of a social support network come together as part of the etiology and the maintenance of this problem.INTRODUCCIÓN: Según datos del Instituto Nacional de Estadística (2012), en España hay alrededor de 22.938 personas sin hogar (PSH), siendo Andalucía la tercera comunidad con más prevalencia de dicha problemática y presentándose Granada a su vez como una ciudad propicia para esta población. La realidad que sufren estas personas va más allá de la pobreza, siendo un conjunto de factores individuales, sociales y de trastorno mental lo que facilita y mantiene dicha situación. OBJETIVO: Explorar el perfil sociodemográfico de PSH en la ciudad de Granada, atendiendo igualmente al trastorno mental, sucesos vitales estresantes (SVE), variables positivas y estilos de afrontamiento. MÉTODO: La muestra incluyó a 30 participantes de los que se recogieron datos sociodemográficos, y se evaluó la presencia de trastorno mental, SVE, optimismo, estilos de afrontamiento y crecimiento postraumático. RESULTADOS: El perfil hallado indica que se trata mayoritariamente de una persona de sexo masculino, de edad media, nacionalidad española, soltero y con nivel de estudios primario. Además, presentaron baja tasa de trastorno mental y un alto índice de SVE. Por último, se encontraron altos niveles de optimismo, bajos niveles de crecimiento postraumático, además, de diferencias entre bloqueo de afrontamiento y afrontamiento cognitivo en PSH en función del trastorno mental. CONCLUSIONES: Del presente trabajo se desprende que el sinhogarismo es un fenómeno multicausal donde la ausencia de recursos económicos, un gran número de SVE, problemas de adicción y la ausencia de una red de apoyo social confluyen formando parte de la etiología y el mantenimiento de dicha problemática
