the main objective of this paper is to consider how tourist’s demand for authenticity in relation to cultural attractions should be conceptualised and empirically measured, analysed and assessed. A further objective is to overview empirical research of authenticity and tourist motivation and to recommend suitable approaches and methods for conceptualising, measuring and analysing authenticity as a tourist motivator for future cultural event tourism research
