Decision support systems for university timetabling

Decision support systems developed for examination and class timetabling at Footscray Institute of Technology are described, and the organisational and human factors behind computerised timetabling are discussed. An original and practical method using graph theory produces from current enrolments, examination schedules which are clash-free to students and acceptable to staff.
