Stroke is the third most common cause of death in Australia. Over 50% of stroke survivors have persisting disabilities that leave them partially or totally dependent on others to assist them with their basic day to day activities. To date there has been extensive research conducted on physical outcomes, diagnostic procedures and treatments in stroke recovery that has primarily focused on older stroke survivors. However, there is limited information available exploring the experiences of the younger stroke survivor.
