The aim of this thesis is to examine how well intersectionality is implemented in United Nations resolutions. The object of this study is four resolutions from the General Assembly of the United Nations and United Nations Security Council. The resolutions are CEDAW, DEVAW, resolution 1325 and resolution 8120 and they treat ways to increase women’s rights and their empowerment. The chosen theoretical approach for the thesis is the feminist theory; intersectionality. To analyze how intersectionality is implemented in the resolutions a discourse theory analyze model is used. A comparison is also made between the resolutions to examine if the degree of intersectionality implemented has changed over time. The results show that there is intersect...
