Hur används lastcyklar i Malmö?

The changing of the climate is today a problem. There are many reasons why the climate is changing but one of the biggest is the use of cars for personal transport. To reduce the emissions of climate gases many cities in Sweden are today planning for sustainable transports instead of the car. Examples of sustainable transportation is public transport and biking. Although the bike is a good vehicle for transport, it does not offer enough cargo space, or possibility to transport more than one or two children which is important for many car users. To solve this the use of cargo bikes by families has increased in Swedish cities. The aim of the thesis is to examine if the cargo bike can replace the car for personal transport. People in the town of Malmö has been asked to answer a survey and an interview. The results from surveys and interviews indicates that the cargo bike solves many problems for people without a car. There is no additional problem to do your regular commuting, take your children to school or bring home your groceries on a cargo bike compared to a car. The people of Malmö also explains that the bike is way cheaper than a car since you don’t have to pay for parking, service or gas, this is also one important factor to why people are using the cargo bike. The conclusion drawn in this thesis is that for some people the cargo bike is an equally god mode of transport as a car
