The purpose of this thesis is to understand the motivations and expectations of millennials to shop offline in order to find out how retailers can respond to these by means of in-store customer experience and thus create an attractive experience point. We first examined literature in regards to motivations and expectations that influence customer behaviour in order to gain an understanding of the customer perspective. Following this, we elucidated customer experience and its characteristics from a retailer perspective, particularly in-store customer experience.
