The human population is growing and with it our ecological footprint. We usually perceive biodiverse ecosystems (nature) as separate from our built environment. If we are to maintain our global biodiversity, we will have to find ways of hosting it within the body of our society. My Land Sharing architectural vision presents a route of conceptual integration that leads away from our present practice of confining biodiversity to nature reserves and towards a future vision of sharing spaces. This can be achieved by integrating nature on nature’s terms: by pondering the usage of every centimetre that is designed and considering whether it could allow for the proliferation of more species.
