Moderskap i bloggarnas värld - En kvalitativ studie om hur normer och föreställningar tar sig uttryck i bloggtexter.

Title: ”Motherhood in the bloggers world” A study of how norms and concepts around motherhood express themselves in blog texts. Authors: Andrea Diaz och Annica Sjöberg Supervisor: Torbjörn Hjort Assessor: Anders Östnäs The aim of our study was to examine and analyze norms and concepts around motherhood, and how they express themselves in blog texts. We also wanted to investigate the blog texts, how they relate to the late modern motherhood in relation to a more traditional motherhood. The method used in this study is a qualitative content analysis, of five selected "mommy blogs". For the interpretation and analysis of empirical data, we have chosen to use the theoretical perspectives in form of previous research on the development of motherhood and blogging, as well as Hirdmans Theory on gender system. The study shows that the strongly rooted ideas of a good mother are present in the blog texts as well as it shows new ideals about motherhood, which the late modern mother can relate to. We have found that the different prevailing discourse affects motherhood and creates ambivalence around the motherhood, which in turn creates feelings of guilt and uncertainty.
