Den psykiska ohälsans många ansikten - En kvalitativ studie om olika orsakssamband i förhållande till psykisk ohälsa hos unga

The aim of this study was to investigate how different professionals who work with young adults look at different factors as possible triggers to mental ill-health among young adults. To examine this, we interviewed seven people who work with young adults. We used a qualitative method to get our empiricism. The empirical material was collected through interviews and previous research. The material was analyzed using Goffmans dramaturgical perspective. Research is divided on whether mental ill-health among young adults has actually increased. Some research says that it has increased dramatically among young adults while other research shows that it has not. The result of our study is that different factors contribute to the perceived increase in young adults increased mental ill-health. The factors that we have come up with through this study that are contributing to young adults mental ill-health are as follows; the Individual society that has developed higher demands on the individual and more young adults feel excluded because of it. Our use of technology has grown as the individual society developed. The increased technology use has contributed to more focus on social media. Hence, the time that we used to put on physical activity is now put on the technology and the interests have therefore shifted. Therefore young adults are less active today. The correlation between the perceived increase in mental ill-health and the above mentioned factors are through this study confirmed
