The perception of young men's vulnerability in the honor context Despite its existence, physical and sexual abuse of men is rarely addressed in media or research. When men are put into a context of honor, they are often seen as perpetrators, which problematize the view of young men as victims another dimension. Thus young men and boys in honor structures are faced with a dilemma when they in the majority of cases are seen as perpetrators, when they actually could be subjects of suppression and exploitation in the context of compulsory marriage and sexual preference. Patriarchal families also require their male family members to act as checkers and oppressors, a role that young men and boys might not want to live up to. By continua’s labeling of these men as perpetrators, focus is taken away from other pressures that these young men could be subjects of. How does society describe young men and boys in the honor context? Are they described as victims or perpetrators, or both, and which models of explanation will occur
