Abstract This study was carried out in Cote d’Ivoire on female ex-combatants and members of organisations working with reintegrating former combatants. The study revolves more on war and reintegration of female ex-combatants. The main objective of the study is to document the presence, roles (combat roles), and treatment of women within war and reintegration. This is done for the fact that, women are often present if not always present within wars but are often neglected in the aftermath. As opposed to the quantitatively dominated method within research today, to carry out this study, qualitative method was applied.
