STRATEGI MENUMBUHKAN MINAT BACA PADA PEMBELAJARAN BAHASA INDONESIA BERBASIS MULTIKULTURAL

The research purpose was described the strategy of reading interest development in the multicultural-based Indonesian learning. The reserch background are the importance of implementation of multicultural-based Indonesian learning and the lower of students’ reading interest. The research result can explaine that reading interest development is all party responsibility. The research type is library research. The strategy of students’ reading interest development in the multicultural-based Indonesian learning including of (1) apply the Drop Everything and Read atau Sustained Silent Reading (SSR). (2) The teacher was given good example to the students in term of reading. (3) The teacher was given reward to the students that like to reading in the Indonesian learning. (4) Optimizing the role of school library in both the aspects of services, collections, and reading room. (5) The school library given reward to the students that diligently borrowing books and read learning material
