NILAI-NILAI BUDAYA DALAM KUMPULAN CERPEN PILIHAN KOMPAS TAHUN 2018

This study aims to describe the elements of cultural values contained in the collection of short stories selected by the Kompas book publisher in 2018. A collection of short stories was selected in the Kompas newspaper during the 2018 edition and entitled "Doa Yang Terapung" as a symbol that reflects a variety of stories in it. The collection of short stories consists of 23 short stories to be studied scientifically. The study used a qualitative descriptive approach with content analysis methods. The research data is in the form of story excerpts contained in a collection of short stories entitled Doa Yang Terapung. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. Data collection techniques using library techniques. The results of the study revealed that there are at least seven elements of cultural values including knowledge systems, community, technological tools, livelihoods, religions, languages, and arts contained in each short story. This shows the existence of cultural values that are developed and shown by the author to the reader in his work in the form of a short story both reflected in the character's behavior and the storyline
