This research aim was to determine the effect of Problem Based Learning on metacognition skills and student learning outcomes. The research design used was a non-equivalent pretest-posttest control group design. The research samples were the students of SMAN 1 Gedong Tataan class X IPA 1 and X IPA 4 amounted of 54 students that were selected through cluster random sampling technique. Data on metacognition skills were obtained using questionnaires which analyzed descriptively while data on learning outcome from pretest and posttest which analyzed by Independent Sampel t-test at 5% confidence level.
