PENGGUNAAN METODE DEMONSTRASI UNTUK MENINGKATKAN AKTIVITAS BELAJAR SISWA KELAS IV SDN 18 SUNGAI KAKAP

This action research done based on the less of student activity in natural science learning process. It cause the student is not focus and less motivation in learning process. Therefore the score of study result is not maximum. The purpose of this research is to increase student activity in natural science learning and also to make student more focused to the matter which will be taught. The research method used descriptive method. The research type used action research with 16 fourth grade students in SDN 18 Sungai Kakap as the subject of research. The research done in two cycles. The research result showed that using demonstration method can increase learning activities in understanding natural science concept. It can be seen from increasing percentage of student activity in each cycle and it cause increasing test result in research process. In the end of research, the level of student activity achieve 93,1% dan completeness of result study in the second cycle achieve 87,5%. Key word : Demonstration Method, Learning Activities, Natural Science Learning Abstrak : Penelitian tindakan kelas ini dilakukan atas dasar kurangnya aktivitas siswa dalam proses pembelajaran IPA. Akibatnya siswa tidak fokus dan kurang termotivasi dalam proses belajar mengajar sehingga nilai hasil belajar yang dicapai siswa tidak maksimal. Tujuan Penelitian untuk meningkatkan aktivitas siswa dalam pembelajaran IPA, juga untuk lebih menfokuskan pada materi yang akan disampaikan. Metode Penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif. Bentuk penelitian yang dilakukan yaitu penelitian tindakan kelas dengan subjek dari penelitian siswa kelas IV SDN 18 Sungai Kakap berjumlah 16 orang. Penelitian dilakukan dalam dua siklus. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan metode demonstrasi dapat meningkatkan aktivitas belajar siswa dalam memahami konsep IPA. Hal ini terlihat dari meningkatnya persentase keaktifan siswa pada tiap siklusnya dan berdampak langsung pada peningkatan hasil test selama proses penelitian. Di akhir penelitian, tingkat keaktifan siswa mencapai 93,1% dan ketuntasan hasil belajar siswa di akhir siklus II mencapai 87,5%. Kata Kunci : Metode Demonstrasi, Aktivitas Belajar, Pembelajaran IP
