The paper dwells on the attempt to highlight the moral and spiritual aspects in Dickens’s writing and their reflectance in Tolstoy’s and Dostoyevsky’s prose. The Dickensian works were the source of inspiration for both writers being coordinated with their moral and spiritual grounds. The paper contains a sketch of the chief motifs that are common for all the three classics based on comparative analysis of texts, as well as on archive materials. The chief motifs under description are fear; crime and redemption; tragic beauty entwined with false pride
