Recently, new opportunities for utilizing extremely high frequencies have become instrumental in developing fifth-generation(5G) mobile technology. The use of highly directional antennas in millimeter-wave (mmWave) bands poses an important question of whether two- dimensional modeling suffices to capture the resulting system performance. Accounting for the effects of human body blockage by mmWave transmissions, in this work we compare the performance of the conventional two-dimensional and the proposed three- dimensional modeling.
