The article presents intensification of nitrogen compound removal process from waste waters by biofilters. It was testified that treatment facilities of the public sewage that were built in the 60-70- ss of the past century are generally available for modernization and reconstruction. However, the biofilters responsible for biological treatment stage are extremely outdated. The article presents an advanced technical plan representing alternating aerobiotic — anaerobic (or anoxic) zones, the research of feed properties acceptable for use at reconstruction of such objects securing modern treatment regulations was done.
