In our studies, we studied the content of pharmaceutically promising biologically active substances, namely phenolic compounds, flavonoids, ascorbic acid, provitamin A (b-carotene) in plants of meadow clover and creeping clover (Trrifolium repens). The effect of the plant growth site on the content of the studied compounds was also studied. The obtained data showed that the content of biologically active compounds in white clover (Trifolium repens L.) is similar to those of red clover (Trifolium pratense L.) and white clover is a source of a whole set of pharmacologically active compounds, as well as red clover.
