1. Some adducts of fumaronitrile and maleonitrile with cyclic dienes were synthesized. 2. The dipole moments of 14 compounds were measured; the endo-structure was determined on the basis of them for the adduct of cyclopentadiene, furan, hexachlorocyclopentadiene, and tetracyclone with maleonitrile. 3. The dipole moments of the bonds in 1,2-disubstituted structures are strongly dependent upon the mutual orientation. © 1967 Consultants Bureau
