Un trouble à l’interface entre différents champs disciplinaires (didactique des mathématiques, psychologie et sciences cognitives) : la dyscalculie

International audienceResearch about dyscalculia still has to be lightened: there is no consensus on its definition, diagnostic criteria are not very clear, … Various perspectives for interpreting this disorder exist but the dominant perspective focuses on individual’s cognitive characteristics. Our questions are the following ones: What is the place for didactics in these researches? How to reconcile approaches to a better understanding of the disorder and to facilitate exchanges between professionals? We present here an analysis methodology for tests which are designed to evaluate basic mathematics skills with various theoretical frameworks (cognitive sciences, psychology or didactics). We expected to build a mathematical difficulties detection tool on this basis. That will make exchanges between teachers and speech therapists easier by providing a common inventory of the child’s difficulties that can be used by each of them. Moreover, we can highlight some biases in tests from numerical cognition thanks to didactics frameworks mobilized in our analysis. This confirms the interest of didactics in research about dyscalculia.La recherche concernant la dyscalculie présente encore de nombreuses lacunes : aucune définition ne fait consensus, les critères diagnostiques sont flous, … Il existe diverses approches du trouble, l’approche dominante étant centrée sur le fonctionnement cognitif de l’individu. Nous nous posons alors les questions suivantes : Quelle est la place de la didactique dans ces recherches ? Comment concilier les approches pour une meilleure compréhension du trouble et pour faciliter les échanges entre professionnels ? Nous présentons ici une méthodologie d’analyse de tests destinés à évaluer les compétences de base en mathématiques et issus de divers cadres théoriques (sciences cognitives, psychologie ou encore didactique). Sur cette base, nous souhaitons construire un dispositif de repérage de difficultés en mathématiques qui faciliterait les échanges entre enseignants et orthophonistes en proposant un inventaire commun des difficultés de l’enfant exploitable par chacun. De plus, grâce aux cadres didactiques mobilisés dans notre analyse, certains biais peuvent être mis en évidence dans les tests issus de la cognition numérique, confortant l’intérêt de la didactique dans la recherche concernant la dyscalculie
